  1. Why is not 2011 in any of your post? It is a short stage, so should be a hight average. it was won by Pierre Roland.

  2. Sorry, I sse in any of your post how in that year anybody could get among the top 100 even in a short stage... it was at the end of the Tour, I notice how the period after 2008 especially from 2011 on there is a difference, after biopassport.

    1. The most important cause is of course the huge speed they went up the Galibier(see here: http://www.climbing-records.com/2013/05/july-22nd-2011-contador-and-andy.html) . If Galibier was slowly ridden, Contador would have went close to 38 minutes on Alpe and at least other 5 riders under 40 minutes.
