June 7th, 1996: Passo Pordoi meets Enrico Zaina

A brutal stage of 221 kilometers at the end of the Giro, Marmolada ridden at huge speed as penultimate climb of the stage and a tough as nails chasing group comprising Tonkov, Ugrumov, Gotti and Olano. None of these things could slow down il bresciano Enrico Zaina in his quest of winning on the Pordoi and getting on the final podium in Milano. As a bonus, the great rider of Carrera would set the fastest ever ascent of Passo Pordoi.

1996:11,3 km@6,8%---28:52---average speed 23.49 km/h(Enrico Zaina)-RECORD
